Besides, the department develops students’ cultural awareness, and critical thinking, introducing students to the cultures, histories, and societies of the countries where the language is spoken. This includes understanding cultural nuances, traditions, literature, and societal structures.
Secondly, the department trains students as future teachers of the English language by teaching them methodology of teaching, lexicology, material development, foreign literature, exploring themes, styles, and historical contexts, while also fostering an appreciation for literary traditions.
