The second stage of "Tasimo-2025". press release
On February 23 of this year, the second round of the Tashkent International Mathematical Olympiad (TasIMO) was held offline as a high-level intellectual competition in the centers of 14 administrative regions.
The prestigious 3-stage competition, organized by the initiative of the International Nordic University, IDC (Intelligence Development Center) educational center, started a healthy international competition among young mathematicians in our country. At the core of this noble initiative are goals such as scientific progress, social and educational efficiency, and serving the success of young people. It was also planned to increase students' interest in research and innovation, to develop the necessary skills in analytical and logical thinking, and to increase their ability to offer quick and correct solutions to problems.
In the first online stage of "TasIMO-2025" held on December 14-15, 2024, the number of people registered from the regions of our republic was 500,000. 66,191 students took part in the large-scale Olympiad. 2,983 young mathematicians in grades 3-11 scored more than 50 points and took a place among the first 50. Shortlisted applicants were recommended for participation in the second round. In terms of the number of participants in the second stage, the first place in the region went to Namangan region. The largest number of participants-scientists was recorded in the 3rd grade section. The majority of those recommended for the second stage were students of the 4th grade.
Cooperation was established with state and non-state educational institutions, schools and educational centers in the centers of 14 administrative regions in order to facilitate the participants-applicants in conducting the second stage of the Olympiad offline. The students, accompanied by their parents and teachers, were warmly welcomed by the Olympiad team. All participants were presented with Olympic program and special attributes reminding them of their participation in the competition.
At the beginning of the exam, the young scholars who reached the second stage were warmly congratulated and wished them luck. Confidence was expressed that this competition will help in mobilizing the talents of mathematical knowledge holders for the development of the society and discover real knowledge holders.
The second stage of TasIMO was started simultaneously in all regions - at 10:00. All efforts were made by the organizers to make the Olympiad process at a high level with interesting and stimulating actions for the participants. In the 1st shift, the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, in the 2nd shift, the tasks of the 3rd, 4th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students were organized transparently in the rooms equipped with cameras, under equal conditions, under the supervision of judges, and lasted 2 hours according to the regulations. Competitions required great knowledge and skills from young mathematicians. Scholars worked on solutions of examples and tasks during the specified time. Relatives of students were given the opportunity to observe the process.
After the Olympiad, the participants-students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the solutions of the tasks. Foreign participants competed online through the Olympic website.
Preparation for the Olympics requires a large amount of knowledge and practice. Therefore, an official page of the Olympiad was created on the Telegram social network, online lessons were conducted by experienced teachers of the IDC educational center, Karakol Ziya educational centers, and test tasks were posted in the classrooms. This helped the participants to develop the skills of mathematical thinking and correct solving of common problems. At the moment, these good works are being continued.
This international competition will help to mobilize the talent of the holders of mathematical knowledge for the development of the society in the future. The Olympiad is held every year in a traditional way for the purpose of early identification of the interests of future owners in specific sciences, discovery of young talents, education of students studying in general education schools to be perfect people in all aspects, development of broad observation, analytical and logical thinking skills.
