Swedish delegation at NIU: A key meeting on the path to education and industry integration

The Nordic International University welcomed another prestigious group of international guests. As part of their visit to Uzbekistan, a delegation led by Camilla Mellander, Director General of the Trade Policy Department of the Swedish MFA, visited the Nordic International University. The meeting brought together representatives from the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Mining and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who accompanied the delegation, and the NIU leadership for a warm and constructive dialogue.


The delegation included executives and managers from leading Swedish industrial companies such as EOL Vent Mining, Sandvik, Epiroc, Scania, SKF, Ericsson, and Atlas Copco – well-known for their innovative solutions in mining, mechanical engineering, information technology, and energy sectors.


The discussion focused on strengthening bilateral relations and laying the foundations for innovative collaboration in education and industry.


During the visit, the guests were introduced to the university’s infrastructure, research activities, and international projects. The meeting addressed pressing topics such as integration of education and industry, student internships, joint scientific projects, establishment of collaborative incubation centers, and training of sector-specific professionals. Agreements were reached on several fronts.


The Nordic International University’s strategy to enhance international cooperation aims to establish a modern, competitive, and practice-oriented education system in collaboration with advanced countries like Sweden.
