The term "Nordic" originates from the local Scandinavian word "Norden," which means "northern islands."
The local people are referred to as "norbdo," meaning "northerners."
Northern European countries include Finland, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and the Faroe Islands (an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark).
P.S.: As the name of Nordic International University suggests, the institution aims to strengthen collaborations with these Nordic countries in the future for the benefit of students.
