An important meeting with a Japanese education delegation was held at Nordic International University.

The meeting provided an opportunity to explore the international academic experience of Umidakhon Ashurova, Director of the Nagoya–Uzbekistan Friendship Association, Professor at Kinjo Gakuin University in Nagoya, and Lecturer in the Campus Asia Programme at the Faculty of Law of Nagoya University.

During the discussions, the participants considered a range of promising initiatives aimed at advancing bilateral cooperation in education towards a more structured and practice-oriented framework.
Key proposals included the establishment of the Uzbekistan–Japan Academic Forum to strengthen scholarly dialogue and facilitate knowledge exchange among researchers, academics and higher education institutions in both countries.

The participants also discussed the introduction of an academic consultancy system to support master’s and doctoral students, as well as independent researchers, in their research activities, research methodology and academic development.

Particular attention was given to launching 144-hour international professional development programmes for academic staff, focusing on Japanese educational practices, contemporary pedagogical approaches and advanced academic methodologies.

Further proposals addressed expanding international projects and grant opportunities for students to foster their research potential, initiative and international experience, alongside the establishment of Summer Schools to enhance the knowledge, practical experience and professional competencies of students and early-career researchers in an international academic environment.
