“A journalist must have passion, skills, and experience,” emphasized renowned political commentator and Honored Journalist of Uzbekistan, Qobilbek Karimbekov, during a masterclass held with students majoring in Journalism.
During the meeting, he shared his experiences in preparing political commentary, spoke about his extensive work in various mass media outlets, and introduced his new publication “The Difficult Path of a Commentator.”
What does it take to succeed in commentary?
The expert commentator gave students the following key pieces of advice:
Knowledge of history, politics, and geography
Studying the basics of diplomacy
A deep understanding of foreign policy when preparing international materials
Awareness of different nations’ customs and traditions
A culture of asking questions and an analytical approach.
The meeting highlighted that every journalist must constantly strive for growth and must not remain indifferent to events happening on the international stage.
