The role of impartial and reliable information, open dialogue, and professional journalism in the development of society continues to grow in significance. In particular, the national media plays a vital role in communicating the substance and significance of the reforms being implemented in our country to the wider public, while providing objective coverage of processes of renewal and development across society.
In this regard, the newspapers Xalq So‘zi and Народное слово, which have been published since 1991, have, throughout their 35-year history, consistently covered significant developments in Uzbekistan’s socio-political and spiritual life while contributing to the establishment and advancement of the respected traditions of the national school of journalism.
To mark the 35th anniversary of the newspapers, the editorial office published a book entitled “New Uzbekistan: A Confident Step Towards the Future.” In addition, the editorial office established the “35 Years in Step with the People” commemorative badge, symbolising recognition of its long-standing and productive work, close connection with the life of the people, and contribution to the development of national journalism.
As part of this recognition, 20 representatives of the International Nordik University were presented with the “35 Years in Step with the People” commemorative badge, a special anniversary publication, and a commemorative badge.
The award ceremony represents not only a high appreciation of the editorial office’s 35 years of service, but also a tangible expression of effective cooperation between the fields of education, science, and mass media.
Today, the rapidly evolving information landscape places new responsibilities on educational and scientific institutions as well. Cooperation between universities and professional media organisations serves as an important factor in disseminating scientific knowledge and analytical thinking to the wider public, enhancing media literacy among young people, and contributing to the development of a reliable and responsible information environment.
The recognition bestowed upon representatives of Nordik University is likewise a meaningful outcome of cooperation, initiative, and collective effort directed towards these shared objectives.
