Faculty members and students of Nordic International University visited the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, gaining first-hand insight into the functioning of Uzbekistan’s legislative system.

During the visit, participants familiarized themselves with the activities of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs and took part in an open dialogue with Members of Parliament.

The meeting provided students with comprehensive information on the state youth policy, the substance and significance of newly adopted laws, the role of political party factions and parliamentary committees, the activities of the Youth Parliament, and other key dimensions of parliamentary work.

Particular interest was sparked by discussions on the legislative process itself—from the drafting of bills to their review, debate, and final adoption. Members of Parliament answered students’ questions and shared practical insights into their professional responsibilities and decision-making processes.

As part of the educational tour, students also visited the museum dedicated to the history of the Oliy Majlis, explored the modern parliamentary library, and toured the chamber where laws are debated and adopted.

The visit contributed significantly to enhancing students’ legal and political awareness while encouraging greater engagement in the socio-political life of the country.
