“German connects the world. Let us explore together and think together!”

An important meeting was held at Nordic International University under this inspiring motto, bringing together representatives of the German diplomatic and educational community to discuss opportunities for strengthening academic and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Germany.

The event was attended by Mr Henrik Ziegler, the officer responsible for cultural and educational affairs at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Uzbekistan.

Marking the launch of Nordik’s newly established German Philology programme and the “Kelajak” Innovation Language Club, the meeting represented a significant step towards expanding bilateral educational cooperation and broadening international opportunities for young people.

Muhammadsiddiq Amonboyev, Vice-Rector of Nordik, welcomed the distinguished guests and highlighted the university’s commitment to internationalisation. He emphasised that the establishment of the German Philology programme places Nordik among the early private higher education institutions in Uzbekistan to offer this field of study, reflecting its ambition to diversify academic programmes and strengthen international engagement.

Another initiative that attracted the guests’ particular interest was “E-Voh,” the national Olympiad dedicated to the Uzbek language and literature. The initiative demonstrated Nordik’s commitment to advancing foreign language education while preserving and promoting the country’s linguistic and cultural heritage.

Professor Hurram Rahimov, Chairman of the Association of German Language Teachers of Uzbekistan, Dildora Muhammadaminova, Head of the Language Department at the Goethe-Institut, and other participants underscored the growing importance of foreign language proficiency in today’s interconnected world. They highlighted its role in facilitating access to knowledge, fostering intercultural understanding, and creating new opportunities for academic collaboration and professional development.

The meeting brought together professionals engaged in German language teaching and learning, providing a valuable platform for exchanging perspectives on current developments, emerging priorities, and the future of language education.

At Nordik, languages are more than a means of communication — they are bridges connecting cultures, expanding horizons, and shaping the future.
