The rector of Nordic University, Sherzod Mustafakulov, presented the meeting's guest, literary scholar and author Rahmon Qo'chqorov, known for the popular literary program "Hayrat." Qo'chqorov is a recipient of the "Shuhrat" medal and holds the title of "Excellence in Public Education."

A prominent advocate for spirituality in our nation, the esteemed scholar shared insightful and lesser-known aspects of Gafur Gulom's life and contributions during the event. He presented selections from works that, despite being composed during periods of national and communal grief, remained unpublished owing to the restrictions of the time in which he lived.


The event offered a comprehensive overview of the contributions and endeavors of several distinguished individuals from our nation, including Abdulla Qodiriy, Abdulla Oripov, and Erkin Vohidov. Rahmon Qo'chqor expressed his thoughtful insights on literary and historical developments, emphasizing the importance of national thought and the value of intellectual progress for the youth.


The meeting offered a comprehensive overview of the various aspects of our social life, ethical standards, and cultural heritage. The students were urged to honor our community and country, carry out their responsibilities with sincerity, and come together in solidarity. Furthermore, important suggestions were provided concerning the thoughtful choice and analysis of sources shared on social media.


The literary meeting offered a wealth of insightful ideas that will undoubtedly encourage students to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the habit of reading books. Ultimately, it is the educated youth who serve as the assurance of the nation's development.

Another significant opportunity under consideration is the provision of educational grants to talented students who demonstrate outstanding results and subsequently gain admission to International Nordic University.


The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions. The agreement marks an important step towards strengthening institutional cooperation and bringing together opportunities in language education, modern higher education, academic development, and youth empowerment.

Education for a Safer Society: Nordik and UNODC United by a Shared Mission

A high-level meeting was held between Mr. Oliver Stolpe, Regional Representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for Afghanistan, Central Asia, Iran, and Pakistan, and the leadership of Nordik University.


During the meeting, Mr. Stolpe presented UNODC’s extensive international experience in combating drug trafficking, transnational organized crime, corruption, and other emerging global threats. He emphasized that education, awareness-raising, and preventive measures remain among the most effective and sustainable approaches to addressing drug abuse and transnational crime.


The University leadership, in turn, introduced Nordik as a modern academic hub that integrates education, innovation, and entrepreneurship, highlighting its commitment to developing socially responsible and globally competitive graduates.


The discussions focused primarily on protecting young people from harmful influences. Both parties explored opportunities for cooperation aimed at strengthening students’ resilience against drug abuse, promoting healthy lifestyles, implementing awareness campaigns, and developing joint educational and social initiatives that foster a culture of prevention and civic responsibility.


The meeting concluded with an agreement to hold a follow-up working meeting in September 2026 and to launch a phased implementation of joint preventive and educational projects designed to benefit students and the wider community.
