Within the framework of the Scientific Council for awarding academic degrees under the International Nordic University (No. DSc.03/2025.27.12.I.26.01), очередные dissertation defenses were successfully conducted.
The meeting placed particular emphasis on strengthening the integration of higher education and science, as well as enhancing the effectiveness of research activities.
During the session, researcher Azizbek Ulugbekovich Nigmanov presented his dissertation entitled “Foreign Experience in Reducing Energy Consumption in the Industrial Sectors of Uzbekistan (Case Study of the People’s Republic of China)”.
The study provides a comprehensive analysis of advanced international approaches aimed at improving energy efficiency in industrial enterprises and offers scientifically grounded proposals and recommendations for their adaptation to national conditions. The theoretical and practical significance of the research was extensively discussed during the defense.
In addition, the dissertation of researcher Turgunbay Kochkarovich Khalmatov, titled “Improving Methodological Aspects of the Use of Digital Technologies in the Activities of Light Industry Enterprises”, was thoroughly reviewed by the chairperson and members of the Council.
The study is notable for its in-depth analysis of the implementation of digital transformation processes in the light industry sector, as well as for addressing issues related to increasing production efficiency and improving management mechanisms.
Following the discussions, both dissertation works were positively evaluated in terms of scientific novelty, practical relevance, and topicality, and were duly approved in accordance with the decision of the Scientific Council.

The Nordic University Delegation Holds Key Meetings in Poland
Currently, a university delegation is undertaking a mobility visit to Poland’s prestigious WSEI University within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Mobility Programme.
As part of the visit, a meeting was held with Professor Tomasz Wotowiec, Vice-Rector of WSEI University of Economics and Innovation. The discussions focused on the achievements of the existing partnership between the two institutions and explored prospects for future collaboration. During the previous academic year, a WSEI delegation visited Nordic University, while Nordic’s distinguished student, Madinabonu Isaqova, successfully completed a study period at WSEI under the Erasmus+ KA171 International Credit Mobility (ICM) Grant Programme.
The current return visit has further strengthened institutional ties and laid a solid foundation for ambitious joint projects and strategic initiatives in the years ahead.

Estonian Experience for Nordic: New Opportunities in Tallinn
During the visit, delegation members met with representatives of the Tallinn City Government to discuss the implementation of modern governance mechanisms in education, the enhancement of educational quality through digital platforms, and the expansion of international collaboration.
The delegation also visited the e-Estonia Briefing Centre, where they explored Estonia’s advanced digital governance model. Presentations on the integration of artificial intelligence, electronic services, and contemporary EdTech solutions into the educational process attracted significant interest.
In addition, negotiations held at the Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications focused on prospective cooperation in the fields of IT, telecommunications, and innovative projects.
One of the most significant meetings of the visit took place at Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), where presentations were delivered on artificial intelligence, e-governance, and the concept of a digital state.
The parties reached preliminary agreements on strengthening cooperation through student exchange programmes, joint scientific research initiatives, and the signing of a memorandum of understanding.
Furthermore, the delegation actively participated in the international “EdTech Testbeds” conference, exchanging expertise on modern educational technologies with specialists from Finland, Germany, Estonia, and other countries.
This working visit resulted in important agreements that will contribute to the consistent implementation of the International Nordic University’s goals in international integration, innovative education, and digital development.
