In collaboration with its partner educational institutions, Nordic University continues to implement intellectual initiatives aimed at unlocking the full potential of young people.

Within the framework of priority tasks outlined by the President in the field of sports, a chess and checkers tournament was organized with the participation of the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan, students of the 77th specialized boarding school, and university undergraduates.

In contemporary education policy, inclusivity has become an essential principle. In this regard, the tournament served not only as a competitive platform but also as a meaningful mechanism to foster intellectual development, encourage social engagement, and practically implement the idea that “every young person has potential.”

The event was attended by representatives of the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan as well as international grandmasters, who engaged in open dialogue with participants. This created a unique opportunity for young attendees to gain direct insights from high-level professionals, transforming the event into both a competition and a valuable learning experience.

Additionally, a presentation of chess-related literature was held, facilitating knowledge exchange. A curated selection of top-quality books was presented as gifts to participants.

During the visit, participants familiarized themselves with the activities of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs and took part in an open dialogue with Members of Parliament.

The meeting provided students with comprehensive information on the state youth policy, the substance and significance of newly adopted laws, the role of political party factions and parliamentary committees, the activities of the Youth Parliament, and other key dimensions of parliamentary work.

Particular interest was sparked by discussions on the legislative process itself—from the drafting of bills to their review, debate, and final adoption. Members of Parliament answered students’ questions and shared practical insights into their professional responsibilities and decision-making processes.

As part of the educational tour, students also visited the museum dedicated to the history of the Oliy Majlis, explored the modern parliamentary library, and toured the chamber where laws are debated and adopted.

The visit contributed significantly to enhancing students’ legal and political awareness while encouraging greater engagement in the socio-political life of the country.
