The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Kingdoms of Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, Rahmatulla Nurimbetov; the Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany and Switzerland, Dilshod Akhadov; the Ambassador to Hungary, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia, Oybek Shakhavdinov; as well as Uzbekistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and the country’s first Ambassador to Cuba, Ulugbek Lapasov, paid an official visit to the university.
During the meeting with the university leadership and members of the Council, a comprehensive exchange of views took place on promising areas of development in science, academic diplomacy, and international cooperation. The ambassadors expressed their readiness to provide practical support in developing Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions as competitive scientific centers within the global education space and in promoting the International Nordic University as an intellectual and academic international hub.
Throughout the meeting, special emphasis was placed on the historical stages of development of the Nordic countries, their unique models and identities, peace diplomacy, cultural-political and scientific integration, as well as the strategic role of education in global processes.
One of the most noteworthy moments of the event was the conferment of the academic title Honorary Professor of the Nordic International University upon Rahmatulla Nurimbetov, Doctor of Political Sciences (DSc), who possesses extensive experience in the field of international relations. This decision represents an important step toward further strengthening the university’s academic potential, developing academic diplomacy, and expanding international cooperation.
This visit by distinguished ambassadors is significant in that it contributes to deepening cooperation with Nordic countries in the fields of education and science, expanding joint research projects and academic exchanges, and broadening access to internationally grounded knowledge resources and opportunities for students and young researchers.
