Press Release of the Uzbekistan – Finland Business Forum II

On January 21st of this year, Nordic International University organized the "Uzbekistan-Finland International Business Forum" II with an international conference on the topic of "Modern and Innovative Construction Technologies."


The international forum, held in collaboration with major Finnish companies such as "Peikko," "Kone," "AINS Group," "Elematic," and "East office," was attended by representatives from ministries and agencies of both countries, leading Finnish companies, the heads and specialists of approximately 30 local companies, as well as media representatives.


The opening of the forum was held at Nordic Interna University. Alisher Jurayev, the Honorary Consul of Finland in Uzbekistan and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Nordic International University, highlighted the importance of the forum. He conveyed that, as part of the forum, Finnish companies would present their most cutting-edge construction technologies, innovative advancements, equipment, and construction concepts.

Ilkka Raisanen, Finland's Ambassador to Central Asia, emphasized the significance of facilitating B2B and B2G meetings between prominent Finnish companies and local business representatives as part of the forum's framework. He emphasized the importance of these meetings for the potential signing of cooperation agreements and fostering future collaboration on promising projects.


Janne Harjunpaa, the Executive Director of "East office," representing Finland's largest shareholder communities, extended best wishes for success to all delegates participating in the forum.


At the business forum, delegates presented proposals aimed at further developing bilateral cooperation between the two countries. The innovative solutions, experiences, research, business projects, goals, and new technologies that can be integrated into systems in Uzbekistan were introduced by companies such as "Peikko," "Kone," "AINS Group," "Elematic," and "East office."


The forum also featured discussions on the current state and prospects of trade-economic and investment cooperation between business and entrepreneurial circles. It was highlighted that there are opportunities to establish cooperative relations in several areas, including expanding economic relations between Uzbekistan and Finnish companies, creating joint production and trade facilities based on advanced technologies, conducting scientific research, preparing highly qualified personnel for economic sectors, and organizing their internships.


In B2B and B2G meetings, negotiations were held on mutually beneficial cooperation. Bilateral cooperation agreements were signed with the business community, and agreements were made to collaborate on promising projects in the future.


For reference: In 2022, Nordic International University and "Saipro Group," with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, organized the first-ever "Uzbekistan-Finland International Business Forum" in Uzbekistan. The forum was attended by representatives from ministries and agencies of both countries, leading Finnish companies, including over 30 companies such as Nokia, Reka Sables, FinnPartnership, Honka, Kone, and Suokone.
